New Features: Print reports, new custom indicator value widget, & more

IP3 ASSESS is a product from the Institute for People, Place, and Possibility (IP3). Our team works closely with our core technology development partner, BonkeyBong, to build and continuously improve IP3 ASSESS, based on what we learn from current users. We regularly update you—our IP3 ASSESS users—with what’s new on the platform to help you get the most out of your access. Check out the most recently-added features below!

Option to print IP3 ASSESS reports (for offline sharing)

IP3 ASSESS reports are now printable! Simply check the “Enable Print Button” checkbox when in report editing mode, and save. Once activated, you’ll see a print icon at the top right of the screen on shared public reports. Click on the print button to see a print preview and print and/or save as a PDF for offline sharing. (Note: only check if you’ve added dividers so you know the page prints nicely.)

Custom indicator value IP3 ASSESS report widget

The custom indicator value widget is a good solution for data that are not a good candidate for IP3 ASSESS integration (e.g., data where only one value exists for the nation or the state; local data for which there is no benchmark). Users can add statistics into IP3 ASSESS reports from data that are not accessible through data frameworks on the platform; measures from any online source can be incorporated.

Custom “add a resource” IP3 ASSESS report widget

Users can add any resource from around the web to IP3 ASSESS reports, even if the resource is not on Community Commons.

Option to view full screen on shared and embedded reports

IP3 ASSESS embedded reports can now be more-easily viewed in full screen by clicking the full screen icon in the top right hand corner of the shared report(s). Simply check the “Enable Full Screen Button” checkbox when in report editing mode, and save. Once activated, you’ll see a print icon at the top right of the screen on embedded public reports.

New divider IP3 ASSESS report widget to improve formatting

Now, add a divider widget into IP3 ASSESS reports to aid in formatting. Use dividers for on-screen viewing, and/or use primarily for formatting reports for printing. Use the “Hide Divider” button when adding a divider solely for print formatting to ensure on-screen viewing will remain the same. Use the print button and print preview to identify where dividers might be needed (i.e. if a report section is getting split into two pages and should all be together.)
